Thanks for your support, everyone.

I hope I made it clear that this is not just a matter of convenience and rationality, but that the County is potentially liable for discrimination against those with disabilities under the ADA. The ignorance and irresponsibility shown by the County in this matter is stunning.

The closest analogy I could come up with: a County geologist modifies maps of the county so that the latitude and longitude lines are no longer slightly curved, but straight, because they believe that the world is flat.

Feel free to copy-and-paste any part of my letter for your own complaint. Those email addresses are the real ones.

Thank you for sending this to the County and for posting it here. I was not aware that the Clerk’s site was coded not to work with Firefox; and I have a tag renewal due this month. It’s good to know.

I will reference your post on my blog and see if I can generate additional citizen communication regarding this matter.

ha ha yeah thats lame, firefox has almost begin surpassing IE as the standard, what kinda lazy ass web designer is this.

Firefox is open source. A hacker could modifiy the code and post a hacked version of Firefox on the net. People download the hacked version of Firefox and it sends passwords and other sensitive information back to the hacker.

Maybe if everyone who uses firefox or mozilla writes a respectful but direct email, the it dept. will get off the sofa.
